The exhibition shows works by the German photographer Kerstin Schomburg who, in the summer of 2015 as a scholarship holder of the Casa di Goethe, undertook a photographic exploration in the tracks of the landscape painter Jakob Philipp Hackert (1737-1807). In addition to the photographs, some of Hackert’s original works (including loans from Weimar, Düsseldorf and Rome) as well as Kerstin Schomburg’s personal notes and records will be presented, documenting her search for traces and comprehending the artistic process.
With the scholarship programme of the Casa di Goethe, the Karin and Uwe Hollweg Foundation/Bremen sponsors projects which are dedicated to German-Italian cultural exchange.
