On the last day of the exhibition Italy in Lines. Master Drawings by Christoph Heinrich Kniep, we cordially invite you to the finissage. The entrance is free from 5 p.m. onwards, and curator Claudia Nordhoff will offer a guided tour in German and Italian.
The tour will highlight Kniep’s career from his beginnings in Hamburg and Berlin as a portrait draughtsman, through his time in Rome, to his move to Naples, where the extraordinary artist lived until his death in 1825. Claudia Nordhoff will explain Kniep’s special drawing technique, his relationship with his clients and friends, and the background to his journey with Goethe throughout Sicily.
No advance booking required.
Free admission.
