Exhibition opening 29 April 2026, 7.00 pm
30 April | 4 October 2026
The exhibition by conceptual artist Mischa Kuball (*1959) explores two significant events in the history of science. On display is a site-specific installation developed for the Casa di Goethe, which examines the contrasting views of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Isaac Newton on colour theory and the refraction of light. Another large-scale work focuses on Galileo Galilei’s observations of sunspots, which led to a conflict with the Catholic Church in the early 17th century. This work is presented on loan from the Monika Schnetkamp Collection, Düsseldorf.
A collaboration between the Casa di Goethe, Rome, and KAI 10 I ARTHENA FOUNDATION, Düsseldorf.
