INCONTRI AL CORSO 18 is a series of events in which the scholarship holders, who live and work in Via del Corso 18 for two months at a time, present their projects in an open dialogue with Gregor H. Lersch, Director of the Casa di Goethe, and the audience.
During his stay at the Casa di Goethe, journalist Mohamed Amjahid explores the role of Italian cuisine in the identity formation of Italian workers in Germany. How did the cultivation of their culinary traditions help them to find their way in a foreign environment and form their own community? Mohamed Amjahid’s research in Rome consists not only of interviews and the search for historical documents, but also of practical elements such as collecting recipes, visiting restaurants and food shops run by former Italian workers and their descendants in Italy.
